Damn, it feels good to be alive!
I say this because 2 weeks ago this time, I was shivering and in agony and pain under the covers as I had the flu or the worst cold in history and quite possibly, mold poisoning. YIKES. I can say without a sliver of a doubt that was the WORST cold/flu I have ever had. Like. EVER.
It’s funny to think that it takes feeling like total shit, to appreciate feeling good. I was practically skipping to the gym today, so happy that I could actually move my body and workout and not want to die.
So, things may have been a bit quiet over on my end because of it. While I was sick something emotionally and energetically shifted/released/clicked for me as it seems like lifetimes of old stories and emotional baggage have left my system. There were some areas in my life that I had major fear-attachments around and a lot of expectations that were sorta keeping me stuck and preventing me from taking action in my life. Funny, getting sick was a huge ass wake-up call to not get so hung up on the trivial minutia of life, to celebrate every day, and consider that this moment is really the only moment that matters.
Now that I’m back to being alive in the world, I have a few things I wanted to share with you. The first is a new stretching routine I put together for Jessica, one of my newsletter readers. She had asked for ideas to help stretch out her tight forearms and so, I created a simple stretching routine to help relax and stretch out the forearms and the wrists.
If you ever take a Pilates or yoga class, you know that you end up on your hands quite a bit (planks, anyone?). The Wrist and Forearm Stretching Routine is a series of simple stretches that targets the fingers, wrists and forearms. It’s about 10 minutes and it’s a routine I do almost daily. You can check it out by clicking the photo below or by clicking here.
The second thing I want to share with you is a Raw Carrot Salad Recipe. This is a personal favorite of mine that I’ve been making a lot lately, and one that I thought you would enjoy. Basically, the raw carrot salad is magic for your digestion and for detoxification. What I love about the raw carrot salad is that it:
- Helps provide the fat-soluble Vitamin A which helps your body convert cholesterol into steroidal hormones, along with supporting your immune system.
- Carrots are a root vegetable which naturally come with anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties to help keep your gut healthy.
- The fiber in the carrot helps to absorb excess estrogen and endotoxins in your digestive system (too much estrogen floating around in your body can lead to all sorts of hormonal issues like weight gain, inflammation, and PMS).
- It helps you poop. (I mean, let’s be real, there’s nothing like a good poop.)
The recipe is super simple to make, and is an awesome compliment to have to any meal. This is one of my go-to recipes when I’m looking to clean up my diet, support my digestive system, and get LEAN. Here’s the recipe for you:
Raw Carrot Salad Recipe
1 large raw, organic carrot
1 tbs. melted coconut oil
1/2 tbs. Apple Cider Vinegar
Juice of half a lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Shred the carrot with a vegetable peeler into a large bowl.
2. Melt the 1 tbs. of coconut oil in the oven or in a pot on the stove; add to the shredded carrots.
3. Mix the 1/2 tbs. Apple Cider Vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper into the shredded carrots and coconut oil.
4. Eat in between meals or first thing in the morning.
And finally, the last thing I want to share with you, is that I’ll be launching a brand spanking new program in June. Earlier this year I ran a program called “The Awakened Body Program” and over 100 people signed up for the mini online course. I personally considered it a success, and after the last few months I’ve decided to totally re-vamp the brand of the Awakened Body Project and create an all-inclusive wellness, nutrition and fitness program.
Basically, in June, I’ll be launching a 21-Day online nutrition and fitness plan to help my clients and online readers build a leaner more supple physique and move without pain. The Awakened Body Project is a cumulation of the last 12 years of my coaching and training experience. The ABP is a 4-Phase Path to healing your body so that you can look, feel, and move at your best.
You see, I believe that underneath the layers of excess body fat, pain, tension, and physical armor, lies a strong, lean and powerful version of yourself. And I want to help you AWAKEN this version of you that’s hidden within and that’s waiting to come alive.
If you’re interested in the June program, you can check out the link here. I am offering an Early Bird Discount to the program for my newsletter readers only before I make the program public. This means, that if you enroll by June 5th, you’ll receive an Early Bird Dicount (The cost of the program will be $297, but with your $100 off, it brings your enrollment to only $197.)
FOR PAST LBC’ers: Hold off on signing up because I have an even better discount for you. I’ll be sending you a seperate email in just a bit.
I won’t say anymore about it here because I made a special page describing the program here. The enrollment page is entirely complete, but I couldn’t wait to send it to you, so I’m sending it about 95% done. But all the important info is on there and I figured, if you had any questions, you’d email me directly 🙂
Phew! I feel like that was a lot of information! And I hope that you enjoy the Wrist and Forearm Stretches AND give the Raw Carrot Salad a try. If you have any questions about anything in this email, or just want to send me an email with a question, or to just say hi, just reply right back to this email.I really hope that you’re living today to the fullest. Life is too short to be taken for granted. All we have, and ever had, and will have is this exact moment, right here and right now. I hope you make all your decision out of love and not out of fear.
All my best,
